Edinburgh and Fringe Fest
August is festival month in Edinburgh. One of the biggest festivals is Fringe Fest. The website says this about how it all began:
"The Fringe story began in 1947, when the Edinburgh International Festival was launched. It was seen as a post-war initiative to re-unite Europe through culture, and was so successful that it inspired more performers than there was room for."
We decided since we were in town during this festival, we HAD to see something! After browsing a HUGE guide for all the shows and taking recommendations from friends, we decided on a comedian named Miles Jupp.

He was very entertaining...reminded Dovie and I of some of our friends and even our favorite comedian at home, Brian Regan...very much a comedian about everyday life circumstances.
Here are a few pictures from the city. We had very typical Scottish weather when we were there (constant rain), so there wasn't much time for picture taking of the beautiful scenery....at least I got a great one of the castle!
