Friday Night Road Trip
All adventures in Stella (Dovie's car) need to be documented, so here is an account of Friday night's adventure.
We decided to make a road trip to IKEA. Since I will be moving into my new flat next Friday, I do need a few things right away i.e. bedding/linens. I figured there was no better place to invest in cheap linens for my two year stay here. We looked it up online and printed out detail directions to the IKEA and it said it was about 38km away. We left with directions and a road atlas in hand, ready to follow all road signs to get us to our destination.
We started to wonder if we were still going in the right direction when the A3 ended and that was not on the detailed directions! So we kept going, approaching every roundabout with a smile on our face, knowing that it was NOT going to be clearly marked and a decision would have to be made. After much laughing, we found our way to Croyden, the town where IKEA is located....now we just had to find it. We did stop and ask directions at an Esso station, but all that Dovie got from the directions was that we needed to turn around.
So we put our heads together, looked at the landscape, and in the distance we noticed two very tall smoke stakes. As we got closer, we noticed that these smoke stakes had a blue and yellow painted trim at the very top? Could this be our clue? The colors are right....but a smoke stake? Low and behold, we made it to IKEA (click on the picture to see it bigger)!

It was a great adventure! Our trip home was shorter thank goodness....but the directions were still not helpful on the way home.
