Meidy Thoughts

This weekend Dovie, Mick and I decided to be tourists and visit St. Paul's Cathedral. The weather couldn't have been better for my first ever visit there. Because it is such a big part of London history, we decided to tour it properly and take the guided tour. I learned a ton, but the star student of the tour was non other than our favorite friend Dovie who acknowledged EVERYTHING that the tour guide said about the history of the cathedral and Christopher Wren. This acknowledgement can best be described as Dovie making the "mmm" sound after everything that was said and therefore the tour guide couldn't take her eyes off her! Yes, Mick and I were EMBARRASSED (read: not JEALOUS) and she even claims that she doesn't remember doing it! RIGHT!

Our tour group only consisted of about 10 people, but that didn't keep us from experiencing all the great things that come with being on a tour:

1. Star pupil - thanks Dovie!
2. We had "that" guy who thinks he knows everything and takes any opportunity to chime in with his bits of information that he deems are important for ALL of us to know!
3. We had the annoying by-stander who decided he would stop and listen to the guide while playing with his keys and coins in his pocket making it impossible for me to concentrate.
4. We had the "teaser" by the guide who mentioned there was this fantastic library at the top of this beautiful staircase that was original to the cathedral that of course we could NOT visit.
